: buy the most expensive helmet on the market and have it custom painted to
: your desire. It simply is not worth it. Go to a sporting goods supply
: store and get the cheapest rock-climbing helmet they have. You will have
: bought a far better helmet than you can build.

Hi Don,

One point. Don't paint any helmet unless it specifically says that you can in the information brochure that it comes with. Most plastic helmets will have the properties of the plastic altered in the painting process which will greatly affect the performance of the shell.
