: It didn't occur to me until I finished my first kayak. Now I'm building one for my wife and was determined to "sign" it in a permanent way. I took a chance a wrote directly on the bare wood in the cockpit with a permanent marker (Sharpie by Sanford). I was also afraid of it running when I applied the MAS epoxy, but it did not. It is very clear and should be there as long as the kayak is floating.
