Table Saw Info: Comparison ( O.T. )

Hi All

I have had a couple of email questions lately concerning table saws and the good or bad of same. I looked into this for a couple of reasons. I am going to look into purchasing a new saw myself, and I was interested in whether some of the manufacturers had improved the useability of their stock fences since the new after market stuff showed up on the scene. This article picks the 5 top selling saws and gives a pretty thorough breakdown of each and comparisons from power, usablity, to price. There are certainly others out there that will do what we do and do it well, but, for an attempt at production or repetitive use, these are probably the top of the line. The information comes from a Magazine called Fine Woodworking and they're into the best quality in anything they do. Their experts are some of the best woodworkers in the industry, so, I think it is safe to say that the info included in the article may be taken as quality info. Hmmmmm......My Sears saw isn't listed. ????? Must be a mistake somewhere. Hope this info will help someone out there in their efforts to purchase equipment in the future. As I mentioned, there are others on the market that will do the job just fine, so, just use this info for a guideline towards any future purchase you may wish to make. As in all things, you get what you pay for.
