The plan was to use the purple heart for the vertical component in the coaming. If it won't bend at 1/8" for the rim, I will be using the other woods that I have around. Purple or a dark red color are fine. The SO is pretty psyched cause she is the one that picked out the purple heart. I had only suggested jokingly about it, but never mentioned that to her after she seemed to like it.
