I like the idea, but I never know what I'm going to get, i.e. 2lb fluke, 12 lb angry bluefish, 25 lb striped bass...so I guess I'm more comfortable with something with an adjustable drag, especially if I'm close to surf breaking over rocks. It is compact, easily stowable, and has the quick release feature, so I might make one just to have it on board if I unexpectedly run into a school of something. Either that, or get a broken flea market rod, trim it all the way back to the 1st guide and mount a conventional reel. John
