I was tempted to do the concealed t-nut job, as I had done on my Tern, but with size-12 feet, I'm glad I didn't. I added 1/2" to the deck forms over my legs and feet to gain a little extra room, and that 1/2" was exactly the right amount. With heels together, my toes are just shy of the deck (with neoprene booties.) As far as looks go, the screw heads are centered in a half-width strip of walnut that marks the shear line, so they don't catch your eye as much as if they were in the middle of the cedar hull.
