You might try experimenting with where you place the weight. With it near the ends, your swing weight is increased and the boat will have more inertia against turning. Placing the weight near the middle should sink the boat just as much but will not increase the inertia as much. Experiment, see what you like.

Also experiment with leaning the boat. The somewhat hard chines make the boat responsive to leaning.
