I searched the archive and found a nice long thread on Gunwales in January and I'm now hoping someone could clear it up for me. I decided not to epoxy my gunwales onto my canoe, now I heard something about silicone on another board can anyone explain that to me? Also should I drill the holes and then varnish them and then screw them or is that where the silicone would come in? Thanks Trav
