I can identify with you -- I re-coated my Tern's hull with epoxy after the first sanding because I thought I hadn't put on enough of a fill coat. I hand-sanded the low, shiny spots to ensure better adhesion, re-coated, and sanded. I used 100-grit, and only went down to cloth in a few places.
