Thanks Ross. This was my first strip kayak project and took me 4 months to complete. I used mostly redwood(light part on the deck is also redwood) due to lack of good cedar souce in my area. Other woods I used are: pine for thin strip on deck and internal stems, cherry veneer on outer stems. walnut on bow & stern tips. For fiberglass, I used 6oz glass. And I used 2:1 laminating epoxy system from Fiberglass Coatings (they are located in my town). The bow & stern tips were made with walnut. I could not bend cherry strips on those tips so I just used small block of walnut. And thanks to you, I used internal bungee flush hatch system. By the way, you have an excellent webpage!
