17" beam?! Are you serious?! You had better be an attentive paddler and a good roller. I felt skiddish in CLC's 20" North Bay. Given the general rule that the beam should be about as wide as your hips plus 2 hand-widths, working it in reverse you would have to have 11" hips. A kayak for Twiggy...
