Thanks for the great laugh! It really made my day.

It seems that George lets the engineering dictate his design a bit too much. It seems his rule is redwood and okoume for the hull and white cedar for the deck. An accent strip of walnut would just add too much weight. And heaven forbid you should want a defined chine or V-hull -- he might have to break one of his cardinal rules and fair the boat with a plane rather than sandpaper only...
