Goodness, I guess you can tell I wasn't a math major ( guess I was still hung up on a scarf I made for a sheer clamp from 3/4" by 1" lumber (8 x 3/4" = 6" (I think)). Imagine a 6" scarf on something 1/4" thick ?!! Thanks for the explanation.

P.S. I said nice things about 3M's 2216 structural epoxy in response to your original message - if they send me a case, I'll forward 1/2 to you.
