Hi All;

Well, thank goodness, glassing the hull was a 45 minute pleasure filled experience - - I can breathe easily again! My friend with all the glassing experience had me mix 24oz of epoxy at first, which I poured on the hull and began spreading. Spread it down the keel and pull it downward toward the sheer lines. Catch the runoff back in your cup. Pour it back as necessary onto the glass and wood areas that have not been thoroughly wet out. Repeat as necessary.

Don't believe the instructions that say bubbles from runoff epoxy will produce a milky coat, that all disappears if you're still within the pot life of your epoxy - - I was done wetting the hull in 10 minutes, every single bubble went away almost instantly. I spent some time spreading the epoxy uniformly, and then adding the abrasion strips to the stems. The bow and stern now have an 18oz layup consisting of 6" wide and 4" wide 6oz strips run about 5' up the keel from either end. I had to mix more epoxy to finish the stem reinforcement strips, I did 12oz additional with some left over - waste . . . All of this accomplished in 3/4 hour. I'm impressed! 8-)

There are a few more pix of the glassing up at my web site, noted below, jump to the "Glassing" link. Fellow Newbies, it's "cake!"
