In Response To: Any Wood strip get togethers on the East Coast. (Walter H. Klaus)

I don't know about the south, Walt, but the Adirondack Museum in Blue Mountain Lake, NY, puts on the No Octane Regatta every year on Father's Day weekend. Over a hundred boats powered only by paddle or sail, and made only primarily of wood. Many demonstrations, races (fun type), food, music, etc. all weekend long (mostly Saturday). For info call the museum at (518) 352-7311. Their web site has only a listing of events, but a call will get you all the info. They are even going to have kayak races this year to accomodate the increasing number of these craft that have been showing up there in recent years. See you there. - John
