I figured out how to keep your old cookie with your info and last read time, etc. If you want to try this, you can feel like a web pro! ;-)

1) print this out or save it to a text file so you can view it while you twiddle your cookie file.

2) Exit your web browser completely (I'm assuming Netscape, but this'll probably work with IE too)

3) Find your cookie file. I suggest searching for a file with "cookie" in the name. If there is more than one file, it should be obvious which one you want.

4) Save a backup copy of the cookie file (in case you mess this up, you can just put it back).

5) Edit the cookie file with any old text editor (notepad works fine under windows).

6) Find the KBBB cookies... They will begin with the old web address of the KBBB (www.guillemot-kayaks.com).

7) Change that address to www.kayakforum.com, save the file, and exit the editor.

8) Run your web browser and check it out.

If you change no other lines in the cookie file, the worst thing that could happen is that you lose you preferences and have to reenter them. If you do screw up the entire file some how, just completely exit your browser and put the backup copy back.

Later,

Tim.
