I think you should take some careful measurements to figger out what's going on. You have to hope that in fact your whole kayak is not curved horizontally like a banana, but that only your cockpit is off set - easy to make a bigger hole. But if the cockpit is set up with an equal no of strips from the sheer from each side, I think you gotta start trembling.

Tape a string line from the ctr of the bow pk to the ctr of the stern peak. Carefully measure at the cockpit if the kayak is same dimension ea side of the stringline, then the cockpit.

Drop a plumb line down the front. Is the bow form straight? Do the same for the back.

Then let us know what the real status is.
