Spot-Filling Holes:

Those patches probably will show, depending on the shade of the wood and the sealer. Another problem is that the resin-reinforced spots will be more resistant to sanding than the surrounding bare wood and can leave slightly elevated humps in the surface. I use toothpicks and try to put the filler only in the holes where it's needed. I use a fine-toothed flat metal file to work down each patch, so a minimum of sanding is needed.
