Depends what you are using it for ... if you ever intend to sandblast glass or metal (or wood siding), neither would be adequate ... might reconsider a 220v 50-60 gal cast iron compressor for another $100 if portability isn't a concern ( you probably gave a 220 (single phase) line in the house if you have an electric range). Look at the (SCM(?)) requirements for the tools you are planning to use ... something like a sandblaster needs a relatively high level of output. And look at the "durability" ratings ... some of the "home use" compressors may have a "lifetime" of 500-1000 hrs. Just an opinion ...
