Hi Hank;

On the subject of scrapers, Rob Macks of Laughing Loon had a good suggestion that I've used extensively for glue removal, and plan to try on the epoxy drips & seams. If it doesn't work out on the epoxy, I'll be off to the 'Depot for your Sandvac (sp?) carbide paint scraper.

He suggested taking a standard paint scraper and shaping the different blades as needed. The std scrapers use a 4-sided blade, so I can rotate any of 4 different shapes into position as needed. I recreate the burr by just rolling the blade on my belt sander. Instant burr and thin curls again. It takes longer for the belt to come to speed than to sharpen the tool!

I also bought a scraper from Harbor Freight that consists of a handle and 3 different shaped blades with multiple cutting surfaces per blade ($10US). It looks like it might be handy in the narrow inside recesses of the stems. It seems to be a nicely made tool, but it DOES need some sharpening . . . 8-)

Hey Hank, can you point me toward that "scarey sharp" web site you've mentioned before?

Thanks and Best Regards, Spidey
