Clean-up time again!

Hi All,

Well it's clean-up time again in my local area. The council (local government) sent out fliers telling all housholds to put any unwanted junk out on the side of the road. This happens twice a year over here in Sydney, you'd be amazed what people will throw away!

So far this week I recovered eight 8'x 4'x 4mm sheets of exterior luanne(sp?) ply, with not a mark on them. One very expensive collapsable golf cart (soon to be a kayak cart), and one mountan bike (ok, so I got all the bits for a mountain bike from different junk heaps & spent an hour or so making it all into one bike). And this was just stuff from my own street.

People tend to put all this stuff out at night, then first thing in the morning there's a bunch of guys in trucks cruising around loading anything thats worth $, and a lot of residents who suddenly decide to go for early morning strolls and come home carrying all manner of stuff. This all goes on for a week or two until the council trucks come and take everything away.

Just HAD to tell someone. The wife was less than enthusiastic when I told her I've got enough materials to build two more S&G kayaks. She just said "Thats nice dear" and sort of looked heavenward...

Paul.
