If you use your regular air compressor you will need a special filter for it. The regular compressor uses oil as a lubricant and this oil breaks down and introduces contaminants into the air. It isn't a problem for working with but for breathing it can be LEATHAL!! The smaller and harder working the compressor the worse the problem but all compressors do this.

Get one of the systems made especially for breathing. They use a oilless compressor.

You can get them from an autobody supply store. We recently paid $800.00 Canadian for the whole setup of compressor, mask and hoses. This was from a company called Survive Air. Every shop I have worked in used this brand so I don't know any other makes although they must be out there.
