Token Indeed! I've been exposed! I hope the staple-builders are not taking any offense to this, as none was meant, and I will as likely build again, and those staples do sound inviting . . .

Before I started, I made up a test strip using my cedar, which is very light in color. I drove a half-dozen staples into it and then tried to remove the staple holes as much as possible. Steam, sand, steam, sand, etc. Then I varnished it. Because of the light wood, it still looked pretty bad. If I can ever find any darker cedar around here, staples would be emminently usable.
