I just started building a S&G boat. I've been doing some butt joining of ply panels, using 4mil clear poly sheeting. This stuff works really nicely......the epoxy does no stick to it much at all and it is heavy enough to keep from tearing it up if you do have a bit of trouble getting it to let go. The only problem I've had is that the stuff I bought was in a package, all folded up......would have been much better if it had come off a roll, but the only roll form stuff I saw was 6 mil and I'd have to buy the whole roll. I have ridges in the epoxy where the folds in the plastic were. Being clear, you can kinda see what is going on underneath the plastic too. Hope this helps. Garland BTW.......must be another Garland here........I stayed away from those redfish-related postings, though I found the whole thing rather humorous (can't imagine another guy named garland though....we're rare).
