Sounds like your priorities are straight. Remember. work provides:

a) The funds to purchase kayak building materials

b) Free internet access to look at reference materials(like this forum), order tools and supplies on-line, and other e- stuff

c) Miscellaneous building supplies at REALLY GOOD prices - when nobody else is looking

and, finally,

d) Something to keep you occupied while epoxy is curing.

So, without work, kayak building would not be possible.
