Hello Lee,

This seat is minicell throughout except for the backrest stiffener which can be built from strips/glass, glass/glass, or veneer/glass. It could easily be covered with fabric. The unit can be easily removed for cleaning, velcro tabs under the deck hold it in position, it does not slide around, the pedestal supporting the backrest butts up to the bulkhead, and there is enough "sponginess" in the pedestal that the backrest has some fore/aft shock absorbtion quality.
