Hi Larry;

Very nice to meet you also, and thanks for the hints. I find that to get the strips into a clamp pressure that I'm familiar with from "regular" woodworking I have to pull on the duct tape rather firmly to get the joints really secure. The good tape has fibers that allow stretch but seems to exert awesome pressures when tensioned on both the inside and outside of the panel. I use clamps on adjacent strips to assure alignment, but clamping pressure comes from the tape. To get the tape off quickly, I run a utility knife along the edge of the strip and just peel it off.

The important point I was trying to make in my post last nite was that if the bevels are correct, and if the joints are proper, the panels will conform to the stations naturally, without having to be coerced. You must have the panels in alignment only when developing the rolling bevel. You don't really care what happens afterward. Most of my hot glue joints are already broken, but I don't care - - I properly position the panel before the next strip is installed with another dab of hot glue, and it only has to hold until I've cut the bevel. My stations should almost "fall out" when I'm done.

This stuff is great fun, and this forum is an educational wonder!

Best Regards, Spidey
