Thanks Lee.

The deck beam I was going to put in was to be right behind the aft hatch. Not by the coaming. I think your right that it would be an overkill though. So with your input I think I'll pass on it. Let me see if I understand your recess hatch design. The spacer, which CLC supplies, runs from shear to shear. Then I would make my own spacers for the port and starboard to complete the 4mm spacer around the hatch opening. Next add another 4mm under the spacer to create the lip for the hatch cover. The 4mm space would then be made up by what ever gasket, silicone or sikaflex one chose to use, correct? I've seen you guys talk about the silicone methods. What do you think about sikaflex instead?

My main concern and or question in my first post was the discrepancy in the radius's I seem to be dealing with. The plans say the forward beam , bulkhead and hatch is 16" and they say the aft hatch is 24" but the aft bulkhead they gave me and the fullsize drawing is actually about a 51" radius. Just wondering if that back buckhead IS suppose to be a 24" radius and not as flat as mine is? I do plan on calling them tomorrow to verify but this board is so full of knowledge that I thought I'd post the question.

Anyway, I apreciate your response and your time, thanks alot.
