If your in the Boston area and want to see a display of small wooden boats visit the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem. Through May they have a collection on display called "Suggestive Curves: Functional Style in Watercraft". I have not seen it but I read about it in the Boston Globe. They have 20-30 small boats on display including some strippers.

Sound like old E.B. captured some of the obsession with building and paddling wood kayaks...or it is a description of some of my old girlfriends. I will leave it to the freudians to interpret what all these references to sex mean...sugestive curves, strippers, long phalic shaped boats etc.
