Someone was asking a while back about using cypress for strip-builts. Here's a guy who built a canoe. There are several canoe contestants and participants at the Wooden Boat Festival held each fall in Madisonville, LA. They make fine canoes. http://home.communique.net/~kk5fe/canoe.htm
