A couple of observations about the scrapers, in no particular order..

-- the link you referenced is *very* informative

-- I did get free burnishing tool from my local junkyard, it is a wrist pin out of a volkswagen motor.

-- practice practice practice. you can draw curls of wood of the workpiece with this tool eventually
