Carl,

I used 3/4" wide strips on my Guillemot for the whole boat except the chine area, where I used strips about 1/2" wide. I would not recommend anything wider than 3/4" and infact plan to build my next one with strips 1/2" to 5/8" wide. I saw a boat at the rendezvous that used narrower strips and it looked great.
