Isocyanates are present even when the product is not atomized! This is why paint manufacturers recommend wearing a fresh air mask before the paint can is even opened.

The charcoal filter will not stop isocyantes!!!! Charcoal filters are for organic compounds (lacquers), although they make an excellent dust filter. The isocyanate molecule is not neutralized by the activated charcoal in the filter, and because of its size passes right through.

Isocyanates are a compound that your body will become sensitized to. This means that your tolerance becomes less with each exposure. The problem is that each person has a different tolerance level, and there is no way to tell what yours is until it is too late! Some people with asthma and other problems have zero tolerance to it.

Long before you reach your limit however, other problems will occur. Nervous system damage, birth defects (I mean in your kids not yours), cancer, etc. One of the first symptoms is mood swings, which is an early sign of nerve damage.

Once the paint has dryed it is inert and will not harm you, but I know three insurance estimators who cannot enter our shop if a car was recently painted because they have reached their limit and even these trace amounts require medical assistance for them.

Don't want to rain on anyones party, but a poly coated boat is only an advantage if you are around to enjoy it.
