Hi David, what are those assessments specifically? And what empirical data does he have to support his argument? But more importantly why would a man pursue so publicly his need to be corrected? lordy , I get off on conflict more than the average person but George is curious indeed.

Would a 38lb boat made to the highest degree of perfection be better than a 75 lb grumman canoe? Give me the canoe and the occasional companionship of folks that can be free of their internal demons for at least the length of the trip.

Hey, I'm not giving up on George, He needs us. He also helps define the boundaries of the rest of the board, as we help him to set his. About trusting your kayak? go ahead and test it, it's only wood,glass,and epoxy, your life is not dependant upon it.

I was really tempted to build an Arctic Tern last year, Lockwood designs good boats.
