Those are neat looking paddles Shawn!

Regarding oval grips, I have used both and definately prefer the oval, I think it is easier on the fingers and hands, and you can feel the blade angle.

All the feathered paddles I made have round shafts, but from a builders perspective it would be harder to put a spiral in than a round transition.
