Gerald, sounds ideal. Lots of heavy plastic lining the floor will help the clean up. Not sure where you plan on sanding this kayak, but if it's in the same place then a random orbital sander connected to a shop vac will go a very long way towards keeping the rest of the place livable, as well as your eyes and lungs cleaner. Another thought, make the exhaust fan move more air than the intake fan so that a constant negative pressure will help keep dust and aromas from backing into the rest of the place. Get a very good respirator,lots of gloves and forearm protection. Most of inhalation problems will come with painting or varnishing. good respirator. A few unobtrusive eye hooks could make holding long skinny things off the floor easier.
