I asked this same question a while ago and Rob was the only one who responded. I really like the looks of the baidarkas and am planning on building one for my second boat. As luck would have it I found a book with a survey of an Aleutian baidarka that is in The British Museum. I will see if I can use the numbers to come up with a reasonable replica of it and have these made into full size drawings by a friend with a CAD system.

I go to Laughing Loon's site and look at the pictures of the North Star every couple of days. Just something about baidarkas!! I may very well build the North Star in the future.
