Are you getting anxious? I thought that you were making this a winter project. Oh, that's right, where you live it is already winter.

I have not counted the number of strips needed, Nick or Michael should have that number easily at hand. You really do need 1/2-inch strips for the sheer and four or five strips at the turn of the bilge.

I also like the looks of 1/2-inch stips on the deck. But that is just for the way it looks. 3/4-inch works very well.

Have fun building. I am starting another soon.
