Using CA on long strips is probably slow and complex in application and use however, I use CA glue on thin tortured wood in decorative areas. The basic process is to glue one end down, waiting for a bit and then working along the pc taping and glueing as it sets up. I also use it on other tiny bits in order to have time to glue other tiny bits. Its globs etc, are way harder than the surrounding wood so you have to be super careful when sanding ( another reason why use for general stripping would be difficult)
