Epiphanes told me that you get your EV protection based on thickness expressed in mills, to make it simple they said a quart is plenty for a typical 17' kayak, it went on in two coats for my CLC boat.

Thinning needs to be done correctly for going over raw wood, which absorbs the varnish; Epoxy does not therefore thinning is needed only to make it flow ok on the epoxy, ie 5% should be enough for each coat.

The stuff looks great, then it scratches...
