Cincinnati is a big city; look in your Yellow Pages under Adhesives--find a 3M dealer, and they should have (or be able to get 3M-5200). Use good ol' DAP contact cement for the seat, knee braces, hip pads, etc. Make sure it's the flammable stuff that is guaranteed to cause cancer in lab rats in the state of California.

I think it's probably just Minicell. Any paddle shops near you? Anyplace that sells whitewater kayaks should stock the stuff.

Make sure to bring the safety bare necessities! :)

I don't know how well you could put a waterproof hatch on a foam bulkhead, but putting a hatch on the bulkhead isn't unheard of. It's more of a pain to get stuff into/out of, but still allows you some storage. If you don't want to break up your nice, clean deckline, then by all means, go for it!
