Rice paper comes in varying thicknesses. I got a pack at an art store that had a few different thicknesses and I ended up using a fairly thin piece. So thin that I had to spot glue it with a paper glue stick to a regular piece of paper and run both through the laserjet. On our boats the paper virtually dissappeared (You can see it if you get up real close) Like Jay said, cut away as much of the paper as you can and be sure to test the ink to make sure it won't run.

Off topic: Another thing we use to decorate the boat are Chinese paper cutouts. They are very ornate and are done on tissue paper. If you live near a Chinatown check them out.
