I purchased 1/16" ash veneer (for laminating stems) and some thinner madrone burl veneer (for canoe decks) from Certainly Wood. They have very nice prices on small pieces on a specials page. They also have a gallery if you'd like to look at exotic burls, crotches, etc. to find exactly what you want.
