Steve, check my Thursday, Aug. 26 post, Re: Glassing deck. I pre-camber my decks and 4 oz glass the inside. Actually, I camber them a bit more than the final shape (they spring back a bit). I just lay them on and they fit perfectly with just a small bit of pressure (a few light bungee cords, big rubber bands or a bit of tape holds them easily in place). Makes the installation process really easy.

I agree that making the saw cut you describe defeats the design purposes of the cambered deck, and you will lose much of the stiffness and strength of the deck. The 4 oz glass on the inside really beefs up the deck. Give it a try, I think you will like it. Grant
