I dunno--would they be effective at non-surfing speeds?

They might be nice on a sailing kayak...are you thinking what I'm thinking? :)

I was actually thinking about building a surf ski the other day.

Thought process went like this: Hmm..I'd like to enter the Ski to Sea race in Bellingham, WA next spring. I'd like to run the anchor sea kayaking leg. Hmm..I'd be faster in a faster boat. I'd like to build an Expedition Single, but with that much rocker, is it fast enough? Hmm..I could build a surf ski. Yeah, I could get a bunch of 1# EPS and carve it, and cover it with glass and make a one-off. What would I use it for? Well, I could run that leg of the race really fast for one. Two...hmm... Hey, I could build a surf ski!

Anyone interested in a surf ski used one time?
