I feel your pain. I don't have an answer to the hatch sealing problem (yet) but I can tell you I bought stainless steel tee nuts (#10, I think)at West Marine for ... $.42 each. I tried the website,

http://www.westmarine.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/ExecMacro/home.d2w/report

and could get to the "Fasteners/Hardware" section, but couldn't find _exactly_ the name of the stainless steel tee nut item. I don't know where you're located, but there are two stores within 10 minutes drive of my seat so, if you can't get there or order online, contact me via email, and I would be happy to be your buyer/shipper, no charge.
