Bill, I am in the planning stages of my first stripper, but am a long time woodworker. Here's my two cents worth. I get several woodworking supply catalogs, browse Home Depot, Lowes, etc. I also have a Unisaw I have had for 20 years. I have an old thin kerf combination blade which I will use to rip my strips. If I was going to buy a new blade, I would get the Frued LU87 thin kerf(.087 vs normal .126) or equivalent. In the recent Woodworker's Supply Catalog (800-645-9292) it is $49.85 for the 8", or $59.70 for the 10"(.094 kerf). I would definitely try to use a specific rip blade because they are a little faster. You are not trying for absolute quality of cut, so if this is all you are buying the blade for, go cheaper if you can find something. Otherwise buy the Frued, or better, and use it for the next twenty years. BEAD and COVE. In the same catalog, page 31, they offer a bead and cove set (1/8" radius) in 1/4" shank for $38.50 for the set. I too was looking for 1/2" shank since I have a large 1/2" router in a large home-built table, but it certainly isn't necessary doing 1/4" softwood. I have ordered this set, but it has not arrived as of yet. Other Woodtek bits I have used have been adequate to above average. If I was doing raised paneled doors in hardwood I would probably go up a notch in quality. But I'm sure these will be fine for stripping. My overall tool philosophy when I start a new project is to try and gear it for the tools I already have, but if I need to buy something new, I try to buy quality if at all possible. Hope this helps, good luck. Kirby
