Paul, you inspired quite a thread. Seems to me that the bulk of the kayak buying market will be comparing a small production or individual boat against other high end production boats ie. glass/kevlar/carbon. That's in the 2200 to 3000 range. When people go to buy one of these production boats used (in perfect condition) I find that the price is about what the wholesate cost is. So..unless you have a lot of people clammoring for one-off boats made by excellent builders, I would be surprised to find a unknown builder selling his boat (in gorgeous condition) for the wholesale price of a glass boat. $1800? I sold my used overbuilt tank of a S&G a few years ago for $5oo and felt lucky. So your near new strip boat might be any where from 0 to $2000. No insult intended. I just think it's best to look at who is buying "kayaks" and figure you are more likely to get nibbles from people looking at any kind of kayak than individuals looking specifically for used epoxy/strip boats. good luck
