Tthere's a good book out there "Building Your Kevlar Canoe " by James Moran published by Ragged Mountain Press -it describes the process. He is buildinga fiberglass canoe. He uses 1inch thick strips of foam over a series of stations. He hot melt glues them to the stations. Then he sands them fair. Coats them with melted wax and lay's up a fiberglass hull on it. You remove the fiberglass hull and continue from there with coamings etc. It's a good book and method to lay up a mold for a fiberglass boat.
