I thought about that, I could make a plug with a wood cover that would look nice, but I think the ability to drain it while sitting in the boat should take priority. The intended use for this is flat water anyway, so the shopvac attachment is fine for now. I'll make sure the ports are sealed better next time I take it out and swamp it. If it still leaks, I'll add the drain tubes. I'm glas I posted this, hopefully someone else will do it right the first time 'round. I like the extended tube/overboard idea. I'd have scrapped the access ports had I thought of it earlier.
